The Illusionist, Artiste, Director, Producer, and many more...

Lawrence Khong belongs to Asia’s top magician league who brought
the first-ever world-class magic entertainment to our home theatres.
A distinguished figure in the Singapore magic scene, Lawrence built up
his name and fame through performing simple yet amazing sleight of
hand magic tricks for his peers since he was a youth.

Going the distance to perfect his skills for his passion in magic, Lawrence’s
rich artistry and enterprising spirit is today evidenced in his various fine mega
magic-theatre productions. They include ‘MAGICBOX’, ‘Magic of Love’,
‘An Evening of Enchantment’, ‘The Spook Show’, ‘The Great Escape’

and ‘From Illusion to Reality’ to date. Co-produced and directed with
his daughter, Priscilla Khong, under their label, Magic of Lawrence &
Priscilla, he has created a revolutionary entertainment genre for show
and theatre goers of today.

“We aspire to give our audience much more than an entertaining magic show. We desire to create a moment of wonderment for all of you who watch our show and hope that we may inspire you to look for the truth behind the magic that manifests itself before your very eyes.” – Lawrence Khong

His dynamic and ever-evolving style of magic has also earned him
partnerships and nods from world-acclaimed magic maestros. Says
master illusionist, Jeff McBride, of Lawrence, who collaborated with him
on ‘Magic of Love’ after seeing his acclaimed work in ‘From Illusion to
Reality’, “It is a huge show that impressed the professional magicians in
Las Vegas, and I knew at that time that this man has a vision, a big vision
for one of the most spectacular magic shows ever produced.”

Lawrence heads his own entertainment production business, Gateway
Entertainment
, which produces his magic productions and also made
various cutting-edge films. He also founded and chairs a registered and
award-winning non-profit welfare organisation, TOUCH Community
Services
, which serves the needy in Singapore and earned him the
prestigious PBM Medal at the 1998 Singapore National Day Awards
Ceremony. He is also recognised as a social entrepreneur as a finalist in
the SIP-Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 through his novel
community intiative, Project SMILE, that touched many lives of the
needy through training volunteers to share the joy of magic with them.

At age 55, Lawrence became a national polo player who represented
Singapore in the 24th Southeast Asian Games in Thailand in 2007, and won
the silver medallion for the Republic with his team mates. He was also
voted as one of Team Singapore’s Top 20 Sports Idols by Singaporeans.
