Synopsis

The Magic of Lawrence and Priscilla shared the limelight with Singapore artistes Darren Lim, Lina Ng and singer/songwriter Stella Ng in this star-studded performance at the Suntec Convention Hall in August 2003. However, the magic segment was undeniably the climax of the show.

The Great Escape wowed the 9000-strong audience with two death-defying acts - Lawrence escapes from chains that bind him to the Table of Terror split seconds before tonnes of metal spikes crash down on him at lightning speed. And he 'impales' his assistant, daughter Michelle, on a two-metre high steel stake.

There was a sober message behind the illusions of escaping death - and it is humanity's endless search for immortality.
